This is a story of a village real people, real businesses in East Texas Henderson, Rusk County. The railroad tracks mark the location also mark a division in small town USA. The tracks have been removed, road paved, no buildings, no markers as if there was never anything there, nothing there.
There were many businesses-Grocery stores, clothes cleaning and laundry services, small hotel, beauty shops, barber shops,”joints”, small cafes, rooming houses, old and new built resident single family houses, Masonic lodge, taxi cab stands.
